Essential Oils for tummy pain suffers

Crohns Disease

One of my daughter’s friends has just been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease so I’m taking a look at how essential oils could help sufferers experiencing tummy pain.

My daughter also suffers from tummy aches and various digestive related issues and tend to seek natural remedies where possible.

Recommended essential oils

Here are some recommended pure essential oil for to ease discomfort in the digestive area.

– Ginger
– Peppermint
– Tarragon
– Fennel
– Caraway
– Coriander
– Anise

Each have specific attributes which add to the overall efficacy of this potent blend.

When used internally, dลTERRA’s DigestZen can help to reduce bloating, gas, and occasional indigestion.

Peppermint oil is used to aid the digestive system. It is also the oil to treat nausea, travel sickness and pain relief.

Basil essential oil is known for treating digestive problems such as treating indigestion, constipation, stomach cramps and flatulence.

There are three ways to use DoTerra Essential Oils because they are CPTG therapeutic grade 100% pure so they are safe to take orally.

Rubbed directly onto the tummy in a circular motion will ease the tummy pain.

A couple of drops of oil can be added to capsules or added to a glass of water.

Put a couple of drops on your heel, for those that don’t like the taste of anise.

Add 2 drops to a veggie capsule or add to a glass of water.Add to pulse points or on the tummy. If you have sensitive skin then dilute with fractionated coconut oil.

Herbal Teas

There are some herbal tea blends that can provide relief such as Chamomile and peppermint tea, liquorice tea.

DoTerra have created the DigestZen digestive blend capsules to offer the oils in an easy to swallow capsule. Taking the capsules promotes a healthy digestive system and relieves discomfort.

Dietary recommendations

In researching this article I found a lot of information about adopting a plant based diet: Raw vegetables and juices but avoid broccoli, cabbage, corn and cauliflower.

Alkalized water is also recommended.

High intake of animal fats and red meat increases risk of Crohn’s.

Avoid whole wheat grains. High fiber diets are often to be avoided for some sufferers.

I rubbed DigestZen on my daughters tummy last night to ease tummy pain and it really did work very quickly. She was able to have a good nights sleep.

Hi Kayla. I recommend Basil, Peppermint and DigestZen for people I know with Crohns, but also supplements. Have your tried probiotics?
